At WDH, a complete range of services is offered to ensure that you get the expert care you need and the attention you deserve.
We provide inpatient and outpatient physical therapy services, treating a wide variety of patient disabilities. Comprehensive care in musculoskeletal, neurological, balance and burn care is available. We offer programs focused on prevention and treatment of work related injuries, a Balance Center and an indoor gym and pool.
We offer ergonomic evaluations and functional capacity assessments to local industries and physicians. We use a BTE Work Simulator to duplicate "real world" functions in order to design a therapy program to meet your individual needs. Our occupational therapists also work with inpatients and outpatients who have suffered illnesses such as heart disease, stroke, arthritis and trauma.
We provide inpatient and outpatient speech therapy for disorders related to aphasia, articulation, stuttering, voice, hearing loss and laryngectomy. We provide cognitive therapy to head injured and other neurologically impaired patients. Evaluation and treatment of children with speech and language disorders is also available. Speech therapy also works in conjunction with the Imaging Department to providing videofluoroscopy for evaluation of swallowing disorders.
Cardiac Rehabilitation provides exercise and education programs designed to maintain cardiovascular fitness for people with diagnosed angina, or for those who have had a heart attack, cardiac angioplasty or coronary artery bypass surgery.
Our pulmonary exercise program is designed to help people with asthma, chronic bronchitis and emphysema to cope with chronic pulmonary disease through improved exercise tolerance and education sessions.
Pediatric Elimination Therapy (P.E.T.)
P.E.T. is a pelvic floor muscle evaluation and treatment program for pediatric bladder and bowel dysfunctions. Our specialists work with your child's urologist or primary care provider to treat common problems such as frequent urination, urgent urination, urinary retention, daytime or night wetting, constipation, stool soiling and frequent urniary tract infections. more information
Neurological Rehabilitation Day Program
We offer a comprehensive outpatient program for people with acquired brain injury such as stroke, brain tumor, neurological conditions or traumatic brain injury. We help improve cognition, communication, physical and social deficits as well as promote independence within the community and work environments. more information
Independence and overall quality of life play an important role in cancer treatment. The Oncology Rehabilitation Team at Wentworth-Douglass Hospital understands. We help you find fulfillment in your level of independence by reinforcing the strength and energy you need to participate in daily activities that are important to you. We help you maintain your optimal level of functional independence before, during and after treatment in our Seacoast Cancer Center.
Exercise Works for Cancer Recovery
We offer a joint program with The Works Family Health & Fitness Center to help recovering cancer patients gain strength, flexibility, improve energy levels and achieve a sense of well-being. more information
